CANADA, NORTH OF THE 49TH

Follow the winds of memory, history, and landscapes as Jack Nanaimo’s poetry guides you through a rhythmic journey of life, reflection, and the world around us.   Because apparently scrolling TIKTOK isn’t enough depth for your soul.

The poem is a response to Trump’s mindless actions against Canada, her people, her sovereignty, and her economic well-being.

Maga can offer Canada zip, nada, nothing.

There in the North reaching the eternal sun
Lying between oceans Canada’s lands have spun
Mountains and plains and forests, her beauty stuns
An anchor for the world her sanctity unsprung

She has it within her, her resources intact
A breadbasket for the world she need never look back
No bombs or invaders have ever attacked
Her danger lies to the south giving her aimless whacks

Canadians see where we stand in the world
When strife from an American despot  tries to leave us uncurled
To leave the vision of Canada ground up and swirled
When the mindless views of Maga aren’t curbed and furled

No where else on the planet do people have it so good
Why else does Trump want to grab Canada and melt us like golden driftwood
Shrill voices of Maga pipsqueaks have no clue  how she stood
It’s time her greatness came out of the woods

To deadly pipsqueaks there also around the world who can’t live but for wars
Leave your worlds terrors afar from our shores
United people in our nation will give vision to our corps
For if the world falls asunder Canada and Canadians are there to still soar
