AFTER THE WAR  IN CANADA

Follow the winds of memory, history, and landscapes as Jack Nanaimo’s poetry guides you through a rhythmic journey of life, reflection, and the world around us.   Because apparently scrolling TIKTOK isn’t enough depth for your soul.

Great memories of youth so clear in the mind
Of family and friends and school down memorable lanes that shined
Great books that were illustrated, giving rise to adventures and dreams
There in Canada so brilliant with glowing seasons and crisp sunbeams

No thought then of what the future might uncover
Living each day as if there were unlimited tomorrows
Knowing all would work out now that peace had arrived
For after the war, the forties and fifties were vibrantly alive

Memories of grandparents and pictures in the halls
Of yesteryears happenings important in history to recall
Past glimmers and thoughts now know life was a fast moving ball
But strong are the memories no matter the events and squalls

Magnificent history was lived with knowledge opening wide
As the world unfolded in an adventurous march and growing strides
Not knowing what time or the future might bring
But peace after the war in Canada gave a future to be in
