THE BEST MEMORY IN POLITICS IS SHORT

Follow the winds of memory, history, and landscapes as Jack Nanaimo’s poetry guides you through a rhythmic journey of life, reflection, and the world around us.   Because apparently scrolling TIKTOK isn’t enough depth for your soul.

“The best memories in politics”  are short
As tight spots of the moment get hot
No way to stop man’s never ending march
Creating strife on the road as he ties tight knots

History unfolds but wrinkles stay curled
For attention paid to the past might stop new wars being swirled
Memories back there are in a misty dreamworld
As “the terrible march of man” and his anger (1)
Is waiting to be hurled

Pages upon pages written, waiting to be read
Of past deadly events that have lead to the dead
There in the past are the millions who have bled
But today man will rise bringing a new dread

Life up in smoke as the powerful crave
Dominion over others digging mankind’s grave
Endless risk as the dice are tossed by only a few in the world
And chants and drums and power and ignorance
Are sounded and whirled
