Events caused by only some are cooking our goose
Power and money flying free, galloping on the loose
Laughing at laws, while giving righteous views
Its time for critical thinking to be honed, questioning the few
Relying on ignorance, loud voices scream over the airwaves
Preaching “toe the line” to the rabble, but we are not ignorant slaves
To do what we are told allowing power to maintain the status quo
As dynamic change is hammered down with powerful monied blows
The ability to think about what is really happening out there
Needs know-how, interest, and courage to speak to the truth four square
To question decisions not in our best interests and laying them bare
Making sure power “toes the line” ensuring the Rule Of Law is in our care
History is repeating itself, and the people are getting slapped
Who once lived for eons under that authoritative crap
Letting kings and priests and oligarchs state how it is to be
And now money and power are telling us again to bend the knee
Getting to the centre of events that cause so much bloody pain
Critical thinking is a key, for we the people rule and have the brains
To get money out of politics and question those who want power
And ask them “who the hell are you?” selling BS from ivory towers
Ensure the checks and balances of power are in place
Working as intended to protect the human race
Pipe dreams of a few thinking only they know the score
Is as full of holes as a sieve; it’s time for the people to let out a roar
Ensuring the Rule of Law and democracy will forever soar
