The blood of Canada runs in great rivers and lakes
Onward to the oceans changing colour as it creates
Lifeblood for all its sons and daughters
In green for the forests and black for its soil
In blue for its waters from shore to shore to shore
Red for the passion a great country invokes
As its peoples move wherever, forever shunning yokes
Our spilled blood overseas that coloured Europe so red
Canadians have left their blood in places that created much dread
Our blood of strong bonds will withstand much stress
As hollow fools under a foreign power want Canada to oppress
Never before has there been so overt a blood threat
From those with whom Canadians lost blood with never a debt
Yet Canada to the north is brilliant in the light
With lands and forests ever holding and ocean surfs ever pounding
Within the sound of its great silence in far reaching vistas so free
Its life blood red, ever pulsing, for Canadians won’t bend a knee
